Development
The City of Tangent’s Land Use Development Code establishes standards and procedures to promote orderly land development within the City and conformance with the Tangent Comprehensive Plan, protect property rights, provide due process of law, and promote the public health, safety, and welfare of all citizens.
Please reference the Tangent Development Code, Public Work Construction and Design Standards, and the additional documents to learn the requirements for land use and building permitting.

APPLICATION SUBMITTAL
Submit complete* application to P&D
*Includes all required supporting documents, fees, studies, etc.
Zoning Clearance
Followup development permits.
Review authority *reviews and approves or denies project
If no appeals after 10 days, permit is issued.
*Zoning administrator, country planning commission or board of supervisors.
All other applications
P&D staff recommends approval.
Director - level applications
P&D approves permit. If no appeals after 10 days, permit is issued.
Issues and concerns are addressed

Any Independent Contractor, County, or Fire District Staff may request changes or modifications.
An application may require the City of Tangent Planning Commission to approve at a monthly meeting.
Step 3: Permit Issued after payment.
Once all work is completed, a Financial Occupancy Permit from the City of Tangent is handed in. Failure to obtain the Financial Occupancy Permit may result in a fine of $750 per day.
